At LFT, we offer a comprehensive and hands on university and career counselling program. We are committed to supporting each student as they identify and develop their interests.
Throughout grades 9-12, we help them explore their post-secondary options by providing guidance on career exploration, the international application process, interview techniques, preparing an effective resume/personal statement and relevant tips to assist with their post-secondary search.
Our counsellor has extensive experience in multiple application platforms such as OUAC, Parcoursup, UCAS and Common App. At LFT, our students are well supported throughout their academic journey. For more information on our school, curriculum and post-secondary destinations, please click on our School Profile.
Our department hosts a variety of events and programs for post-secondary exploration. Every year our events include:
- In-person/virtual visits from about 20 Canadian, American and European universities,
- Multiple virtual/in-person university fairs,
- Application workshops,
- Career Fairs,
- Alumni panels
- Job Shadowing Program for grade 9 students,
- Presentations to families focusing on university planning and academic programs in North America and Europe.
Our students have an exciting range of possibilities thanks to the distinctive education they receive at the LFT.
With 100% university attendance (75% in English language universities and 25% in French language universities) and French BAC scores well above the average, our students are more than ready to thrive at top universities in Canada, the United States, France and internationally. Furthermore, due to the rigor of the French Baccalaureate and the academic calibre of our students, numerous Canadian universities and institutions abroad have offered a substantial number of scholarships to our students.
Our students have been recipients of several merit scholarships such as the prestigious Schulich Scholarship, Queen’s University Chancellor Scholarship, the University of Toronto Scholars Scholarship and the University of Toronto’s President’s Scholars of Excellence.
